Logitech Macro/Keys - Is it against ToS?
If anyone owns a Logitech gaming keyboard they would know what I hateful. For those that don't it's pretty much a programme that comes along side the keyboard that allows you to suit things like the colours and so forth.It as well has the capability to program what they deem every bit 'Macros' where yous can input a series of keys or a primal and a time interval and whether that sequence is used when the key is pressed or if information technology is toggled on and off.
Back in MoP I used information technology to press a button on my action bar that had a macro that would /cast Milling /use Herb at an internal and so I wouldn't take to press the milling button and then press the herb in my pocketbook. I stopped using information technology all the same as I knew the ToS had something in it about bots or cardinal pressing simply I never fully understood if this Logitech plan was against ToS since it'southward pretty much gear up up FOR games, especially MMOs.
What I want to know is if this is really against the ToS. It'south not like I am botting or using it to path around and farm mobs or herbs (I don't even think it tin exist used for that unless you are really good at this kind of thing or have a LOT of time). At the moment I want to utilize it to printing a button on my action bar at an interval (toggle information technology on when it's being used, toggle it off when it's not) that has a macro for targeting a mob and playing a sound if the mob is upward (since NPCscan doesn't work anymore). I will also exist at my computer, I but want to have it pressing the macro and so I can work on Uni work/describe. Information technology's pretty much just doing what NPCscan can't practise with old world mobs now. I miss sometime NPCscan

I haven't been able to detect a direct reply on this. Blizzard posted that the macros on keyboards are fine to apply but they didn't clarify the programmable macros. They said that they couldn't be allowed to practise what cannot be done in the game client, so I don't exactly know what that means and I'chiliad not sure if that applies to me since what I want to practise involves a simple /tar *if he'southward there play a sound* macro that I got off the mob's page.
I know of people using these kind of things to sit AFK in Warspear and spam gild advertise/selling macros, and it cannot be used unless yous are really tabbed into the game, otherwise yous end up sending people on Facebook messages that consist of random numbers. I'm pretty certain information technology tin't be used to AFK either as it should log out for inactivity every bit there'southward no movement.
Ultimately I tin't see why it wouldn't be allowed seeing as people used to go out NPCscan and WoW running all night to rails rares and ignore log-out timers by flight in circles and into walls and stuff and no one ever got a ban for that (that I know of). But if I am wrong and you know the respond delight allow me know.
Also don't throw hate at me for not knowing or accuse me of beingness a bot or a cheater or any. I've tried asking this on the WoW forums and been met with nothing but trolls. All I want is a genuine answer because I really don't want to adventure getting my 7 year old WoW business relationship banned for such a pocket-sized thing.

As long equally the macros you lot apply the keys to brand are able to be made and used in-game without those keys, they would be fine. It gets against the rules when you add together things that cannot be used in an in-game macro such as timers or auto-central presses that will get your account banned.
when all else fails, read the STICKIES.
